Why the fuck do people expect healing to be a light switch?

You just flip it on and boom — you’re whole again. It's not that easy. It's not that simple.

I learned the hard way — healing is demolition. Then reconstruction. Then repeat.

Some days, I feel strong. Other days, all I can do is be grateful I'm breathing. And that’s okay. I’ve had to forgive myself a thousand times for a thousand different things; breaking character, violating moral codes, poor judgment and bad decisions under the influence, and doing shit that I said I'd NEVER do — the type of shit that goes against your true character, in direct opposition of what you stand for.

If you're like me — you beat yourself up. Reliving the shit in your head over and over again.

Eventually, over the course of many years, I finally figured it out...

I had to let that shit go. YOU have to let that shit go. Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has a vice. Everybody has an opinion. But you can't live YOUR life worried and based on how other people judge or perceive YOU. More importantly, YOU can't take care of YOUR mental health when your constantly judging yourself and beating yourself up! So whatever it is, whatever mistakes you've made — just learn from it and let it go.

Remember... NEVER a loss, ALWAYS a lesson.

Focus on doing right TODAY and being 1% better than you were yesterday.

Because the truth is — it's not over and you’re not broken, you’re just under construction.

Take your time and honor the pace of YOUR PROGRESS. There’s no medal for rushing YOUR RESURRECTION.

Where are YOU at in your rebuilding and recovery?
